Mission Statement
For 50 years, Harmony Fusion Chorus has been committed to musical excellence and education, enthusiastically sharing the joy of singing four-part, a cappella harmony in the barbershop style. Members pride themselves in community involvement and strive for innovative entertainment and diversity in their membership.
We welcome women as young as high school age who love to sing and are enthusiastic about performing, competing and improving their vocal skills, and having fun! Prior musical training is not required.
Harmony Fusion Chorus is proud to be a chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI), a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances. SAI boasts an international membership of nearly 27,000 women, including more than 1,200 registered quartets and 600 choruses. The organization’s motto is “Harmonize the world."
BRAVO!
Harmony Fusion has been recognized for its high member retention rate, and is a four-time winner of the SAI Region 12 BRAVO Award (Best Retention And Value to the Organization). We are extremely proud of the award as we were the first and only chorus to receive the award three times! We believe it is due to our welcoming and supportive culture.
Education
Membership in the chorus and in Sweet Adelines International provides access to multiple opportunities to learn more about the art of a cappella singing. Several times a year we bring in professional coaches to help us learn ways to enhance our vocal skills, performances, and choreography, especially when preparing for the annual regional competition. Prior musical training is not required; members receive ongoing education through our weekly rehearsals and extra coaching sessions. Membership includes access to weekend workshops in vocal techniques, singing in quartets, learning to direct, and leadership skills.
Competition
In the spring every year, we participate in the Region 12 chorus competition. Region 12 includes Hawaii, Northern California, Southern Oregon and Nevada. Competitions are a time for choruses and quartets from the region to perform for each other, receive constructive feedback from a panel of judges, and have fun.
Harmony Fusion Chorus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
